Happy Friday!

Scholastic Book Club

Happy weekend! We had a busy week last week and are ready for the next one. We completed the BOG, had math test and social studies tests, met
Read-a-thon goals, and learned all some new writing strategies.

Reminders:

Last week we sent home Scholastic Book Orders. This is a great program that makes it easy for your kiddos to build their own book collections while earning books for our classroom! I highly encourage ordering books from Scholastic. They are affordable and it is really easy to order online. Please do not send in money orders to me, it is better to go online to order them using our classroom code. Once you put your order in I will complete the order and our books will be delivered! I will complete the order at the end of this week and send home the next catalog in Friday folders on the 26th.

Our class code: Q7JPH

Hello Parents!

We completed our first week!! I love having your children in my class and I can already tell we are going to have a great year. This week we will be filled with learning, Read-A-Thon, Parent Open House, and BYOD parent meetings.

I encourage you to check your child's binder each night. They will be bringing home important papers, their reading log (which should be signed nightly), math, and any other improtant homework. The binders have information sheets in them if you ever need to know where something is. As a reminder, the Data Wall should never be removed from the binder!! These will keep you updated on their common assessment scores.

Open House - August 11th at 6:15pm

Parents this is an event just for you! You will learn more about what is going to take place in our classroom this year. This is a good time to ask any questions that you have about curriculum, testing, homework, and schedules.

We will also have a BYOD parent meeting that you can attend before Open House. The BYOD meeting is at 5:30pm on the 11th.

Read-A-Thon

We have Read-A-Thon starting this week. This is a program where your students will read and raise money for the school. The school has a goal set of raising $50,000. In order to do this we are aiming to have each child recruit two sponsors who will donate money. As we raise money, your child will earn prizes. Please register your child online with the secret code I sent home in their binder. Once our entire class is registered we get a popsicle party!

Please register as soon as possible! My goal is to have everyone registered by Tuesday.

Welcome!!

Welcome Students and Parents!!

The school year is here and I could not be more excited to have your child in my class! I will be sending more information about this school year home in your student's Homework Binder - this is a binder that they will bring home every night that keeps their agenda, homeowrk, and common assessment data wall organized.

-Please answer the quick servey on the home page about your child's transportation!

Supplies

I have had a lot of questions about what to do with your child's supplies- just bring them in and we will organize them as a class. If you want to, you can put your child's name on their binders or pencil case. Other supplies such as pencils and expo markers will be used as a whole class supply.

BYOD

Here is a link to informattion about Bring Your Own Device. We suggest bringing in your device during Open House on August 11th!
